My own recordings
I have recorded some music by myself. In the very, very past using only two tape recorders (one with two inputs) and a microphone, later a (little bit) more sophisticated. I am not sure if I still have any of these very old recordings (and if I have, I am for from sure if I want to post them here 🙂 …
Home recordings
I have record a few songs using the free software Audacity, some samples, riddims and a microphone. Only two reggae songs so far: “My TV” (on the Jamrock Riddim) and “Fascists don’t come around” (The Come Around riddim, with sample of “Fite dem back” by the great dub poet Linton Kwesi Johnson).
Reggae Grooves Sound System
There are also some recordings I made together with my friend Filip at his home studio. We used to DJ as Reggae Grooves Sound System, he used to make home recordings and we recorded some songs together. Filip created the songs (with the exception of “Racist Politics” – see below) and did the mix, I added bass and vocals.
Dub Syndicate feat. DJ Nesta – Racist Politics (Mix by Filip Stan)
To this song (“Cuss Cuss”) by Dub Syndicate we added voices from newsflashes and my vocals. The text is a reaction on the assassination of the Dutch far right politician Pim Fortuyn in May 2002.
